Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Goofer, trading as GooferLabs ("we", "us"), handles your personal data when you use our websites, customer portal and desktop applications (together, the "Services"). We are the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws.

What we collect

  • Account data: your email address, name (if provided) and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your email and basic profile from that provider.
  • License & device data: the license keys issued to you and, when you activate the app, a hardware identifier (HWID), and the approximate IP address and machine name used at activation. This lets us bind a license to a device and detect abuse.
  • Purchase data: we record that a payment was made, the amount, currency and provider. Card and payment details are handled entirely by our payment providers — we never see or store them.
  • Support data: the contents of any support tickets or emails you send us.
  • Essential cookies: a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use it

  • To create and manage your account and deliver the licenses you buy.
  • To operate license activation, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms.
  • To provide customer support and respond to your messages.
  • To send you transactional email (your license key, account and purchase notices). We do not send marketing email without your consent.

Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the Services), to comply with legal obligations (such as tax record-keeping), and on the basis of our legitimate interests in securing the Services and preventing abuse.

Who we share it with

We share data only with the processors that run the Services on our behalf:

  • Payment providers (Polar and PayPal) to take payment and, in Polar's case, act as merchant of record and handle VAT.
  • Email provider (Resend) to deliver transactional email.
  • Hosting & database (Vercel, Turso, Cloudflare) to run the sites, store your account and serve downloads.

We never sell your personal data.

Retention

We keep your account and license data for as long as your account exists. Payment records are kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see below); we will remove your account, licenses and associated records, which will also deactivate your keys.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, or if you have a complaint, email us at support@gooferlabs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
